Eleven days dedicated to Italian cinema of yesterday, today, and tomorrow, accompanied by a rich program of concerts and guided tours to the Archaeological Complex of Santa Croce in Gerusalemme. The 2023 edition is dedicated to Roberto Perpignani, one of the greatest editors at an international level and a historical teacher at the CSC – Scuola Nazionale di Cinema, where he has trained entire generations of editors. Roberto Perpignani has edited numerous films for the most renowned Italian and foreign directors, from Orson Welles to Bernardo Bertolucci, from Paolo e Vittorio Taviani to Mauro Bolognini, from Gianni Amelio to Francesca Archibugi and Nanni Moretti. Perpignani will be present to introduce the films he has edited and titles signed by his illustrious students: Francesca Calvelli, Stefano Cravero, Walter Fasano, Jacopo Quadri, Cristiano Travaglioli, Marco Spoletini.
From July 21st, all feature films will be preceded by the screening of short films made by students of the CSC – Scuola Nazionale di Cinema, from the Rome branch and regional branches. An opportunity to demonstrate the uniqueness of the Fondazione Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia: the coexistence of the Cineteca Nazionale and the Scuola Nazionale di Cinema within the same institution, promoting a dialogue between past, present, and future cinema.
