The festival of Roman terraces aims to rediscover these spaces as places of gathering and creative production while admiring extraordinary and unseen landscapes. Eleven Roman terraces, from the city center to the outskirts, will be the protagonists of installations, workshops, video art, exhibitions, multimedia tours, and audio storytelling. The terraces will transform into real squares where the plurality of creative forms can be expressed: from music to art, from photography to cinema, from architecture to design.
On three of these terraces, site-specific setups will be created: the terrace of the Scelsi Foundation will be dedicated to sound, the “vision” will be the theme of the installation on the terrace of the IC “Via delle Carine,” while the terrace of the Institute for the Blind S. Alessio will focus on multisensory experiences. The other terraces will instead host unprecedented visits to unique places for their panoramic views and the architectural value of the buildings or the surrounding landscape.
Please note that the events will be conducted in Italian, but this presents a wonderful opportunity to explore the most beautiful terraces in Rome while immersing yourself in a cultural experience.
The project is the winner of the Public Notice “Roman Summer 2023-2024.”
The program may be subject to changes.
