Day Trip (Hike) to a fresh forest and two volcanic lakes (Albano Laziale) – Accessible by train!
Hike the forest of the Parco Regionale dei Castelli Romani, with stunning lake views (two volcanic lakes!), hidden caves, Roman artifacts and many myths and legends – with an expert guide – and get the chance to visit Nemi, try some local foods and make a unique experience near Rome.
Where: Albano Laziale (the exact meeting point will be announced after confirmation)
When: Saturday, October 19th @9.45
Duration: about 6 hours (the exact time varies, depending on the weather conditions and participants)
Cost: Full price: 35€ – 30% discount for Expat members (read below) – train ticket not included
Return: There are trains back to Rome at 3.43pm, 4.43pm, 5.43pm (once every hour – last train: 9.40pm). Additionally, Cotral busses connect to Anagnina metro station (about every 30 min.)

ℹ️ Difficulty Level: Medium (Distance: up to 16km, elevation gain: 230m, includes uneven terrain)
ℹ️ The final duration of the hiking event and the itinerary may vary, depending on weather conditions, unexpected obstacles (e.g. a fallen tree along the way), or other safety reasons. It is at the discretion of the professional hiking guide to determine alternatives or to shorten or extend the experience.
This is a professional activity in accordance with European Union legislation and Italian law no. 4 dating to 2003.
Sal is a professional guide enrolled in the register of the Italian Association of Interpretive Nature Guides – AIGAE.
What should you bring?
Obligatory: Comfortable hiking shoes, 1.5 liters of water, clothing suited for an outdoor hike, backpack, bring your own hiking lunch
Recommended: Comfortable backpack, raincoat, sunscreen, hat (protection from both sun and rain), trail snacks, tickets for public transport
Optional: Hiking poles, electrolytes, sunglasses

Who is the guide?
Sal, a certified outdoor guide (member of AIGAE), leads this tour. He’s also a former Komoot route editor and a National Geographic Day Tour guide. His mission is to make information about the Italian outdoors and wilderness experiences accessible to everyone and to promote a healthier lifestyle and connection with nature.
