The exhibition of ‘100 Nativity Scenes in the Vatican’ returns. The Dicastery for Evangelization continues its cultural initiatives for the event “The Jubilee is Culture” in preparation for the upcoming Jubilee in 2025.
The third scheduled exhibition is the international display “100 Nativity Scenes in the Vatican,” featuring works by numerous artisans depicting the Nativity scene. The opening of the exhibition will take place at 4 p.m. on Friday, December 8, in the presence of Monsignor Rino Fisichella, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, and the Ambassador of Italy to the Holy See, Francesco Di Nitto.
According to a statement, the edition aims to celebrate the memory of the 800 years of the Greccio Nativity, the first representation of the Nativity that Saint Francis created in the town a few kilometers from Rieti at Christmas in 1223. To commemorate the occasion, the inauguration will also be attended by Father Massimo Fusarelli, the Minister General of the Order of Friars Minor, and the Mayor of Greccio, Emiliano Fabi.
The exhibition, officially opening with the inauguration, will be accessible until Sunday, January 7. Admission is free.

A fully mechanized nativity scene, one carved in the shape of a typical wooden coffee maker, others sewn in fabric, along with pieces from collections such as the Nativity Scene from the Ulma Family Museum in Poland, will be on display. Several organizations and associations will participate with their works, including the National Association of Friends of Nativity Scenes, the Association City of Nativity Scenes, and the Embroidery Club of Pistoia.
