Cantina Ruggieri is a family-run vineyard. It has been producing high-quality wines since 1890. They masterfully combine traditional winemaking techniques with modern technology. The winery offers a diverse selection of wines, including Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Trebbiano d’Abruzzo, Chardonnay, Pecorino, and Passerina. Each wine beautifully reflects the unique terroir of the Abruzzo region. Nestled in the picturesque Abruzzo countryside, Atri is surrounded by rolling hills, olive groves, and vineyards, just a short distance from the stunning Adriatic coast.
The Ruggieri winery through the technique refined over time, thanks to the support of an excellent winemaker and the modernization of production systems offers wines of the highest level that effectively present themselves to a market in continuous evolution and very demanding in terms of quality and research for a niche product.
This immersive experience will take you behind the scenes of the winemaking process, guided by the knowledgeable staff of Cantina Ruggieri.

Tim König is our friendly GermanAmerican Abruzzo Expat Representative. Tim moved to the beautiful medieval city of Atri (TE), ‘the city of art,’ from the Dallas – Fort Worth Metro Area in 2024 with his Sicilian husband Giulio. Tim and Giulio coordinate monthly meet ups with Expats in Abruzzo at local venues for traditional Sunday Lunches at local Agriturismos, that serve fresh delicious local cuisine. Also, coordinating aperitivo and wine tastings at local vineyards and cantinas, and they are currently planning summer adventures for Abruzzo Expats at Lido’s in the Cerrano Marine Reserve on the Adriatic.
