The 121st edition of the historic art event, “Cento Pittori Via Margutta,” returns from April 27th to May 1st, 2024, featuring the theme “Artificial Intelligence and Creativity: The Relationship between Man and Machine.” Located on Via Margutta, the renowned street of artists in Rome, this event showcases the works of artists from across Italy, Europe, and even South America. Each artist interprets the theme using their unique artistic language and technique, displayed on traditional easels topped with umbrellas.
The opening ceremony on April 27th at 5:00 PM will be attended by dignitaries including Federico Mollicone, President of the Cultural, Science, and Education Commission of the Italian Parliament, and Antonello Aurigemma, President of the Regional Council of Lazio. The exhibition will also pay tribute to the late painter Gaetano Lombardini, with an honorary award presented to his family.
Notable artists, including Lanfranco Finocchioli, Enzo Fasoli, Salvatore Nota, and Longo Francesco, will receive career achievement awards. The event also welcomes young students from the Academy of Art in Rome, promoting intergenerational and intercultural exchange.
The exhibition aims to explore the relationship between humanity and technology, addressing concerns and opportunities arising from artificial intelligence. The event is endorsed by Rome City Council, the Regional Council of Lazio, and holds the high patronage of the European Parliament.
