If you are an art lover, you don’t want to miss the opportunity to visit the exhibition “From Futurism to Virtual Art” at La Vaccheria, the exhibition space of Rome Capital in the Eur district. The exhibition, which runs until March 31, showcases some of the most influential artworks of the 20th century, from the avant-garde movements to the contemporary digital art. And now, two new works have joined the exhibition, adding more value and appeal to the already impressive collection.
The two new works are a sculpture by Francesco Messina and a serigraphy by Andy Warhol, both coming from private collections and loaned for the occasion. The sculpture, titled “Beatrice” (gilded bronze, 1950), is a delicate and refined portrait of a young woman, inspired by the muse of Dante Alighieri. The serigraphy, on the other hand, is a colorful and pop portrait of Regina Schrecker, a famous Italian fashion designer, on a white background (hand-executed silk screen on canvas, 1983). Both works represent the artistic excellence and diversity of the 20th century, and complement the other artworks on display.
The exhibition “From Futurism to Virtual Art” is curated by Giuliano Gasparotti and Francesco Mazzei, and features works from the Rosini Gutman Collection, curated by Gianfranco Rosini and Elisabetta Cuchetti. The exhibition is divided into four thematic sections, each one dedicated to a different artistic movement or trend: Futurism, Dadaism and Surrealism, Abstract Art and Pop Art, and Virtual Art. The exhibition aims to create a dialogue between the past and the present, and to highlight the innovative and visionary spirit of the artists who shaped the art of the 20th century.
The exhibition is also an immersive and interactive experience, as the visitors can explore the artworks in a dreamlike environment, enhanced by contemporary installations of digital art. The exhibition is designed to engage the spectators and to stimulate their curiosity and creativity.
The exhibition “From Futurism to Virtual Art” is hosted at La Vaccheria, the exhibition space of Rome Capital born from the urban planning agreement “Eur – Castellaccio.” La Vaccheria is a former dairy farm that has been renovated and transformed into a cultural hub, hosting various events and initiatives throughout the year. The exhibition is part of the cultural program of the Municipality IX of Rome Eur, which supports and promotes the artistic and cultural heritage of the area.
