The river of kings: This urban hike follows the magical and ancient Tiber river.
Experience an important wildlife corridor – with spectacular views, surrounded by history and nature, right in the center of Rome and learn more about this river that once had a special bond with the Romans! You’ll get a chance to hear interesting legends and stories surrounding this important Italian river, as well as observe and learn about interesting plant and animal species, from fish, amphibians, and reptiles to bigger mammals (e.g. great cormorant and egrets), surrounded by epic views of ancient Rome.

What should you bring?
Obligatory: Comfortable walking shoes, 1.5 liters of water, clothing suited for an outdoor hike, backpack, bring your own hiking lunch
Recommended: Comfortable backpack, raincoat, sunscreen, hat (protection from both sun and rain), trail snacks, tickets for public transport
Optional: Hiking poles, electrolytes, sunglasses

Sal, a certified outdoor guide (member of AIGAE), leads this tour. He’s also a former Komoot route editor and a National Geographic Day Tour guide. His mission is to make information about the Italian outdoors and wilderness experiences accessible to everyone and to promote a healthier lifestyle and connection with nature.
